Andrew Wiggins
Next up on our list is Andrew Wiggins, and if you’ve watched these first two games, this isn’t going to surprise you. Wiggins has averaged almost 30 minutes per game yet is barely hitting double-digit scoring.
Having scored over 20 points per game in three of his six total seasons in the league, Wiggins needs to step up in a big way in the next few games. His shooting has also been poor, hitting a mere two of his ten attempts from deep.
From the field, he’s shooting under 30 percent. That’s just a problem, and something that must change. Again, the Warriors are playing some of the best defensive teams in the league, but Wiggins is just 3-for-11 on shots that have been deemed either open or wide open.
They need him to step up as an elite second or third option, and the hope that he could is why they initially brought him to the Bay Area. While his contract is almost untradable, Wiggins needs to find a way to start performing or his starting role likely won’t last much longer.
