The Golden State Warriors played their second game of the season on Christmas Day against the Milwaukee Bucks. Unfortunately, the Warriors would lose another one in blowout fashion, making them 0-2.

The Golden State Warriors are now 0-2 on this new season with a loss to one of the best teams in the league on Christmas Day. This is now the second game the Warriors have lost that ended in a blowout, as the final score was 138-99.

While the Bucks scored 138 points in the game, it was not a huge offensive game for Giannis Antetokounmpo as he scored only 15 points. However, he did have four assists to go along with 13 rebounds.

These last two games for the Warriors have been telling, as it has shown that maybe Golden State is not yet ready to compete again. However, this is a very different team, and there are still 70 games left.

The final outcome against two excellent opponents does not decide the Warriors’ fate for 2021.

With a critical piece out for the season in Klay Thompson, the Warriors were forced to have a more productive offseason than usual. Thompson missed last season and paired with Stephen Curry‘s mere five games led Golden State to a 15-win season.

Therefore, they had a top pick in the draft and took a great player.

The big man from Memphis who was selected second overall by the Warriors has looked impressive so far. James Wiseman is starting his campaign for Rooke of the Year and it is not slowing down.

In the offseason, Golden State picked up a wing player from the Thunder who was formerly on the Phoenix Suns. Kelly Oubre Jr. is playing on the Warriors now to fill Thompson’s role as best as possible.

This team still has a ways to go, but the upcoming stretch of games at home can help them tremendously. Until then, here are three things to take away from the Warriors’ recent loss on Christmas day.
