Are Kelly Oubre Jr. and Andrew Wiggins the reason for the Warriors struggles?
By Justin Lee
The Golden State Warriors have now played a few games but are struggling to find wins. Some of that can be due to their inability to shoot, as the Warriors have registered 20 threes on more than 70 attempts.
The year is 2020. The Warriors, a team of historic shooting, are one of the league’s worst three-point teams. How did they get here when just a few years ago, that’s what Golden State was known for?
I mean, of course, they still have the best shooter of all time, but even he is struggling.
Two of the culprits involved in the last few murders- Golden State getting blown out twice- are Kelly Oubre Jr. and Andrew Wiggins. Their recent shooting woes have not only been unhelpful but even hurtful to the detriment of the team.
This is a historical franchise built on shooting, and they are currently tearing it down.

Going back to the days of Tim Hardaway and Chris Mullen, who were one of the league’s best shooting duos at the time, even then, this team was a nightmare for teams to guard. So why is a team with so much history in shooting struggling at this juncture?
Who is Accountable?
Not saying it’s his fault he got injured, but Klay Thompson is the main reason for the shooting struggles we are currently season. Without him on the team for two straight seasons now, it is much more apparent how valuable he is overall.
Thompson brings a catch and shoot ability like no other, among other things such as defense. We are talking about a guy who can score 37 points in one quarter, and by the way, he has. Thompson’s biggest strength is his ability to draw defenses away from Stephen Curry.
Curry doesn’t have that polarizing second option this season.
The other two at fault would be none other than the two new players for this team.
Yes, Wiggins played last season on the Warriors, but he did not play more than 12 games total. The Warriors acquired Oubre Jr. from Oklahoma City when the team found out about Thompson’s injury.
The two combined have shot less than 25 percent from three on the season. No one asked these two to be lethal shooters and hit 50 percent of their threes, but they were asked to hit some of the open ones.
They are doing neither and making their team look worse than what they may actually be.
