The Golden State Warriors may need to make a midseason trade in order to compete. Bringing in a star could cost them forward Andrew Wiggins.

Whether it be through a third team involving themselves in a deal or just straight up for a team that can absorb his cap hit, the Golden State Warriors should look to bring in a second star. It’s been clear that just Stephen Curry isn’t enough.

Curry has, throughout some parts of the team’s first four games, played very well. However, when he’s not hitting, it’s tough for Golden State to get any rhythm offensively.

Kelly Oubre Jr. has hit just one three in four games, taking over ten shots from downtown. He hasn’t been the piece Golden State had hoped for, but his contract is one that the team can get off of if they feel he’s not producing very well.

Wiggins is not. The Warriors may want to consider trading Andrew Wiggins and picks to a team that can absorb his contract while also bringing back a star. Not only for this season, but they could need another scorer if Thompson doesn’t come back as lethal as everyone hopes.

That said, there are only a handful of teams that can take on such a deal like Wiggins. The former No. 1 pick signed a deal that will pay him over $29 million in each of the next two seasons. That said, let’s dive into three teams that may be willing to bring him in.
