New York Knicks

Many of these teams that may be first in line to pay the steep price of a contract like Wiggins have a plethora of rookies on their roster. From Kevin Knox to Mitchell Robinson to RJ Barrett, the Knicks are laced with high-profile rookies.

The most recent young gun to join the Big Apple’s team was Obi Toppin. Toppin has been dealing with an injury, so he hasn’t played too much yet. They do view him as a large part of what they’re planning to do in New York.

The Knicks could use a player like Wiggins. He’s proven to be a high-profile scorer for the Timberwolves and is coming off his best game of the season as a Warrior. Wiggins has scored over 20 points per game in three of his six seasons.

Knowing the Knicks aren’t going to compete for at least the next season or two, their management should be willing to bring in Wiggins and a few picks in exchange. What picks and what Golden State may have to give to get a third team to give up a star is another question.

The Warriors could use James Harden or Bradley Beal. Not taking on Wiggins’ contract and still adding a high-level first-round pick and more additional picks may be worth it for a rebuilding team like Washington, if that’s the direction they’d want to head.
