With a 14-point game against the Sacramento Kings on Monday, Warriors’ Eric Paschall recorded his fifth straight double-figure performance.
The Warriors have now won two in a row, tying their longest winning streak this season.
They’ve done so by absolutely dominant performances from Stephen Curry who put up a career-high 62 against the Trail Blazers and followed it up with 23 in the first half against the Kings. It hasn’t been just Curry.
Thankfully, Kelly Oubre Jr. has started to find his rhythm. Even Andrew Wiggins is getting in his groove and proving to be a capable scorer. While both those two have dominated, the Warriors have received big-time contributions from James Wiseman and Eric Paschall.
Wiseman has displayed an insane wingspan around the rim and is already developing into a solid option both offensive and as a rim protector. He’s been everything the Warriors could’ve asked from a center.
That almost winds out the starting unit.
But, it’s been more than even just the starters, and that’s where we start to praise Eric Paschall, who Steve Kerr transitioned to the second unit as three-time All-Star Draymond Green was preparing to make his season debut.
Paschall moved to the bench, and immediately he returned to the player that fans praised last season.
A member of the All-Rookie First Team, Paschall combined for 13 points through the team’s first two games. He then moved to the bench and has put up over 55 points in the team’s five games since.
The Warriors have won four of those, losing one. Paschall has actually played under 20 minutes in each of those five games instead of the 20 plus he played in the team’s first two games. He’s the spark off the bench, even if it is for under 20 minutes per game.
Paschall came into the league as an older rookie. The 6-foot-6 former Villanova Wildcat is already 24. He has the potential to be a star, but his ceiling is more of that unique energy off the bench, and he’s continuing to prove that that’s where he does his best work.
He’d played well, and Paschall has been a huge factor in the Warriors gameplan over the last few games. He’s finally that scoring forward the team has lacked since trading Andre Iguodala a couple of years ago.
