The Golden State Warriors are, to many people’s surprise, above .500. They’ve thrived with Stephen Curry and Draymond Green leading the way.

It’s been a wild ride through the first 12 games of the season. Through the first part of the season, the Warriors are above .500, and to be honest, from where most analysts’ predicted, the team is exceeding expectations.

Some people predicted the Warriors wouldn’t make the playoffs, and some even thought they wouldn’t be a top-10 team in the Western Conference. So, yes, being in the playoff race through almost a fifth of the season is important.

The Warriors have also taken down several playoff-contending. They split back-to-back games with the Clippers and Blazers. Defeating a Clippers team with Kawhi Leonard playing is no easy task, but Golden State managed to do just that.

It’s more the passion that this team is playing with and has many of the pieces are falling into place. James Wiseman is starting to heat up his play to the level that the team needs it to be at. Other role players have also started to help Curry in the scoring category.

Overall, this team has impressed, and they should be considered legitmate contenders. Let’s dive into why.
