Golden State Warriors trade targets: Bradley Beal

The Washington Wizards are proving they are incapable of building a competent supporting cast around Bradley Beal. Therefore, the blazing-hot shooting guard could become available to the Golden State Warriors.

Pros

Let’s start with the obvious, Bradley Beal is leading the NBA in scoring with impressive averages of 34.9 points, 5.3 rebounds and 5.0 assists per game. He is lighting it up from all angles and would be more than enough to take the defensive focus off of Stephen Curry this season.

Beal is only 27 years of age, making him a player that can stand long-term with the franchise. An electric scorer next to Curry and Klay Thompson could be the key to prolonging their primes as they become off-ball shooters.

Cons

The biggest downfall here is Beal’s defense. He just isn’t a quality defender with his short stature and frail frame. He would make an already weaker Dubs’ team more vulnerable on the defensive end which is something they might not be able to afford.

Most of all, the cost of acquiring Beal would be sky-high. We can kiss Andrew Wiggins and Minnesota’s first round draft pick goodbye, as well as a few more picks and assets. This begs the question, is Beal even worth it? We aren’t sure.
