0It was brief, but the Golden State Warriors flashed their potential as an elite squad in a victory over the Los Angeles Lakers.

For most of Monday night, it appeared the Golden State Warriors would be the next team in line to take a beatdown by the Los Angeles Lakers. The champs were running up the score behind a strong start by Dennis Schroeder and nobody predicted the Dubs would have enough firepower to spur a comeback.

As we’ve seen time and time again, the Dubs overcame the odds and rattled off a 34-21 run in the fourth quarter to come from behind and steal the game. Stephen Curry finished with 26 points, including a devastating step-back 3-pointer over Anthony Davis to seal the deal.

The Warriors saw impressive showings from Andrew Wiggins and Kelly Oubre tonight. Specifically, Oubre had his best game for the Dubs with a season-high 23 points on 9-of-18 shooting. He played jarring defense and brought an intensity to the game that helped the Dubs in their comeback efforts.

Wiggins was great as well. He is really hitting his stride as a two-way threat, assisting in holding LeBron James to just 19 points on 6-of-16 efficiency. This team is looking scary with Wiggins beginning to thrive on both ends of the floor.

We also saw a solid night from Eric Paschall and Kevon Looney who combined for 26 points and 10 rebounds on 11-for-14 shooting off the bench.

As for Draymond Green, well, he commanded the whole thing from the floor. He was in charge of every move, pushing the Dubs into perfect rotations on defense down the stretch and scoring two massive buckets to put them ahead in the final minutes.

This statement from the Warriors comes only a few weeks since their 20 point comeback over the LA Clippers. While the Dubs don’t have enough to be true championship contenders, it’s safe to say no team is lining up to play them in a seven-game series.
