The Golden State Warriors, with wins this season over both teams in Los Angeles, are going to be a playoff contender and may be able to get even better.

It’s been an odd season for the Golden State Warriors.

They were supposed to have a revenge tour with Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green returning Dub Nation to relevance. While Curry and Green have been able to do that, this team hasn’t shown quite enough to be considered a championship contender.

They have big-time wins over the Blazers, Lakers, and Clippers, but they’ve yet to put together the consistency. Players like Kelly Oubre Jr. and Andrew Wiggins have both helped and held back this roster from reaching their full potential.

This season, prior to the game against the Jazz, the Warriors sit at 8-7. They’re tied for seventh place in the West with the Mavericks and Nuggets, both also 8-7 as of Saturday.

The difference between the Nuggets, Mavs, and Warriors is that Golden State has assets that they may be willing to trade that could drastically improve their roster. With a disabled player exception as well, the Warriors could have several avenues to improve.

That said, let’s dive into three of them.
