Ed Davis

The 6-foot-9 Ed Davis another former first-round pick that is on a team that has a small chance of making the playoffs.

In 17 games and 7 starts with the Minnesota Timberwolves, Davis is averaging just 2.4 points and 5.5 rebounds per game. Davis’ best attribute is typically his efficiency, but this season, he’s struggled to shoot the ball around the rim well.

At one point, Davis had eight straight seasons of shooting over 50 percent and was over 60 percent in three of those. He’s been under 50 percent for two straight seasons and is shooting under 41 percent this season.

Davis needs to be better, but his struggle should make him a perfect buyout candidate, especially since he’s 31 years old and should be hoping that he can find a team that will take him to the postseason.

Golden State is that team. It’s a solid fit if the Dubs feel he can turn it around as he’d given them solid rebounding and ample rim protection.
