The Golden State Warriors, if they want to contend for the NBA Championship this season, will need to make a few trades but not for these players.

Although the Golden State Warriors haven’t played great recently, they will be a playoff-contending team. It’s surprising to many as the Warriors were not expected be competitive according to most preseason rankings.

Despite five-time All-Star Klay Thompson going down with a season-ending Achilles injury during the offseason, the Warriors have found a way to be success, and that just goes to show the culture and talent the team has.

At the same time, their wins have largely been on the back of two-time MVP Stephen Curry who will again be in the conversation for the highest individual award. Curry has been electric and has noted how he’s feeling terrific even at 32.

With Curry leading the way, it’s been clear that he needs some more help. The Warriors brought in Kelly Oubre Jr. to help supplement Thompson’s injury, and he hasn’t exceeded expectations so far. Andrew Wiggins has though.

That doesn’t mean the Warriors won’t add talent. This team needs a few more pieces to be a true contender. That said, instead of looking at trade targets, let’s take a peek at four players the Warriors should stay away from.
