The Orlando Magic may be looking for suitors for center Mo Bamba, and the Golden State Warriors could be that makes perfect sense.

With the trade deadline closer than many may realize, there may be players on the trading block that you could see pop up on your phone in a ‘Woj Bomb.’ One of the players that could be involved in a potential NBA trade is Mo Bamba, who is currently on the Orlando Magic, and the Warriors make sense.

The third-year center for Orlando would make a perfect fit for the currently injury-riddled Warriors. Golden State is currently without a center on their roster as both James Wiseman and Kevon Looney have been out.

Not to mention, Marquese Chriss is also out for the season.

Bamba is currently not getting a lot of playing time on the Magic due to Khem Birch’s emergence as the backup center. Of course, with All-Star Nikola Vucevic there, there is not a lot of minutes to go around for Mo Bamba.

Recently, Golden State has been playing Draymond Green at the center position, which is fine. He even did a great job defending Vucevic on Thursday night.

However, they cannot keep playing him at the pace and workload he currently is.

It can wear Green out and put Golden State at an eventual disadvantage. Looney and Wiseman’s return could be imminent, but even then a need for another big man could be real, especially given Covid-19 concerns.

If the Warriors were to be in trade talks with Orlando for Mo Bamba, they would need to give up some assets, especially when considering Bamba is only 22-years-old.

Golden State Receive:

Mo Bamba

Orlando Receive:

Kevon Looney, Jordan Poole, 2022 First Round Pick

This trade would work financially for both teams as well.

The Orlando Magic will only take a $915,000 cap hit, which is definitely in their budget. However, this trade helps the Warriors financially. The trade also raises Golden State’s projected win total by six wins.

Both teams should make this trade because of where the two currently sit. The Magic need to rebuild soon, and wasting talent like Bamba won’t help them in that regard. However, trading him for a first-rounder will help that.
