In a pleasant shift from last year, the Golden State Warriors might land an NBA Draft Lottery pick and compete in the playoffs. The franchise is able to have its cake and eat it too because of their trade with the Minnesota Timberwolves – securing a 2021 first round pick as well as Andrew Wiggins for D’Angelo Russell.

Although the WOlves ensured to place protection on the pick, it will still transfer to the Warriors if it falls outside of the top three. This means even though Minnesota has the worst record in the league, there’s a 60 percent chance the pick lands outside of their protection due to the flattened lottery odds.

The Golden State Warriors very well could end up with another top-five NBA Draft pick this year. Here are three prospects to fall in love with.

Aside from Minnesota retaining their selection, the only thing holding Golden State back from adding another elite prospect to their roster are trades. A first round pick is a perfect sweetener to include in a deal – and the Warriors have reasons to shake things up and find another star to complete their roster.

But, as of now, there’s no word on whether or not the Warriors are looking to make any deals. As far as we know, they are open to offers but haven’t taken a step in either direction yet. It’s likely we hear more about trades as the deadline approaches – or later in the summer when the draft order is officially revealed.

So, if there’s a good chance the Warriors are going to pick in the lottery again, who should they be targetting? This upcoming draft has been building hype all year long. Let’s see which prospects have stood out as potential fits for the Dubs.
