In a shocking turn of events, Kelly Oubre Jr. has been the most efficient shooter on the Golden State Warriors. He’s shooting even better than Stephen Curry over his last 10 games, showing he can bring real value to the Dubs’ offense.

The law of averages is a funny thing, isn’t it? Oubre began the season shooting so poorly from behind the line, we knew a hot streak had to come eventually. Surely there was no way he’d continue bricking open shots each night, right?

The Golden State Warriors have enjoyed a nice shooting steak from Kelly Oubre Jr. who has been outshooting Stephen Curry as of late.

Building confidence is the best way to break out of a slump. On one faithful night, Oubre exploded for 40 points and drilled 7 3-pointers against the Dallas Mavericks. He hasn’t looked back since, shooting 47.4 percent on 6.3 attempts per game since then.

As for Curry, he’s been on fire himself. Curry is averaging 34.0 points on 52/44/95 shooting splits over his last nine games. No one in the league has hit more 3-pointers during this stretch and only Malik Beasley has shot above 40 percent on at least 100 attempts.

Meanwhile, Oubre is one of seven players to shoot over 46 percent on 60 attempts. This group includes interesting names such as Lonzo Ball, Norman Powell and Julius Randle. Joe Harris leads them all at a scorching hot 56.7 percent clip from deep.

While I don’t need to explain that Oubre isn’t the best shooter in the world, this streak from deep is incredibly encouraging. The Warriors’ offense is much more fluid when he’s able to space the floor and make teams pay for leaving him open.

Golden State will only get better if Oubre is able to continue shooting efficiently. We wouldn’t expect him to stay this hot from the floor but matching the league average of 36 percent would be all it takes to make Oubre a consistent 3-and-D threat for the Warriors.
