The Golden State Warriors may need one more star to be true title contenders this season, and they’ll have the assets to pull it off if they want to.

After a few tough losses to inferior opponents and a few challenging victories, it’s clear that the Golden State Warriors aren’t among the best teams in the NBA.

Now, they are going to be a playoff-contending team regardless, but to say the Warriors have the pieces on their current team to make a Finals run in a difficult Western Conference without Klay Thompson healthy seems outlandish.

Recent losses to the Hornets and Magic have shown us that this team may need more to get to the next level. They have talent, and Stephen Curry is playing at an elite level. But, this team seems incompetent when he’s not on the court.

Curry needs to be scoring efficiently for the Warriors to have a chance in most games. As we saw against the Hornets, the team melted down late without Curry’s leadership on the floor. They did play well up until the last few minutes.

The team is now 16-15 and still sitting in 8th place in the Western Conference. That said, they may need more, and if a star is going to be on the move and come to the Bay Area, let’s dive into three players that may be dealt as a part of that deal.
