The Dallas Mavericks are monitoring the market for Kristaps Porzingis and the Golden State Warriors are one potential landing destination for the former All-Star. According to Ian Begley of SNY, the Mavericks front office spoke with the Dubs about a potential deal.

Porzingis, who was acquired back in 2019 via trade, has been the odd man out in Dallas. On paper, his wide array of talents seemed like a dream fit next to Luka Doncic. Sadly, injuries and other issues have rendered Porzingis useless in a Mavericks uniform.

Kristaps Porzingis’ time in Dallas is coming to an abrupt end. Here is how the Golden State Warriors can trade for the former star.

Porzingis is having a weird season. He’s averaging the second-most points of his career (20.5) and shooting a career-high from the field. Yet, he’s lumbering around defensively and is too perimeter-oriented for him and Doncic to mesh well.

With the Mavericks stumbling out of the gate and posting a 14-15 record through the first half of the season, it’s obvious why the front office is looking to shake things up. Porzingis is their most valuable trade chip and the Warriors are a suitable partner with plenty of expendable assets of their own.

Unfortunately, with tight financial situations and heavy contracts involved, there aren’t many scenarios for trade here. That means we’ll have to get creative. Nonetheless, here are four deals the Warriors could consider for Porzingis.
