Golden State Warriors’ trades: Three-team Mega-Deal 2.0

In this three-team blockbuster, the Golden State Warriors will look to retain Andrew Wiggins by instead flipping Kelly Oubre, Jordan Poole, Brad Wanamaker, Kent Bazemore, Kevon Looney and Marquese Chriss for a package of Kristaps Porzingis and Danuel House.

Once again, there is no easy way for the Warriors to swallow a hefty contract without including one of their own. They’d have to sacrifice a ton of depth in order to make this work. However, they can rest assured that the return of Klay Thompson and two potential first round draft picks (as well as a second round pick) can help them recover for next season.

The benefit of acquiring Porzingis remains the same – a towering presence who can space the floor and score at a high-rate. Under ideal circumstances, he may even become an elite shot-blocker once again. Meanwhile, Danuel House is a great two-way player who can replace Kelly Oubre’s production. House is averaging 9.2 points and is a career 36.2 percent shooter from the 3-point line.

This deal works out for Dallas, who gains a strong defender in PJ Tucker, a veteran scorer in Kent Bazemore and two big-men in Kevon Looney and Marquese Chriss. As for Houston, they get younger with Oubre and Poole while also keeping some veteran experience due to Wanamaker.

Overall, it’s hard to imagine the Warriors agree to shake up their roster to such an extreme extent for a player who appears to be on a downslide in his career. Yet, if the Warriors were to pull the trigger, it would likely resemble one of these deals.
