Golden State Warriors NBA Draft: Scottie Barnes

Like other players in his class, Scottie Barnes is a wing with great size (6’9″) and is a jack-of-all-trades. Barnes is bigger than most players on this list and might not have the speed of other guards in his class but he makes up for it with his long arms and leaping.

Barnes shoots nearly 50 percent from the floor despite being an under 30 percent 3-point shooter. This speaks to his quality shot selection in attacking the paint. However, despite a decent-looking jump shot, he shoots only 55.7 percent from the free-throw line, which draws concern on if he can translate his shot to the NBA.

Nonetheless, he’s a powerful athlete on the drive. He seems to never stop rising and isn’t afraid to crash one down over a defender. This will bode well for him in the NBA and it seems he will have no problem playing defense with his size and agility.

Barnes is a great fit for the Warriors if they can expand his range. He’s similar to Andre Iguodala and could be an even better shooter if the Dubs place emphasis towards fixing his shot early on.
