The Golden State Warriors have the NBA’s best scorer in their organization, and if they believe he can single-handedly captain a championship-caliber team, they should bring him in some more help.

While many try to discredit the three championships Stephen Curry has won, basically, every team is loaded with stars at this point in the modern-day NBA. Look at the top-tier teams today. The Lakers, Clippers, and Nets all have at least two of the NBA’s top-20 players.

Curry has been wildly successful in the NBA, but he’s had Klay Thompson and Draymond Green there with him at every stop. While the team did lose Kevin Durant in the 2019 offseason, they’ve proven they can win without him.

Without Durant and Thompson is a different story though, and it may display how much they believe in the power of Stephen Curry.

With the Golden State Warriors set to make a playoff push in the second half of the season, should Bob Myers and company get Stephen Curry more help?

What does help look like for Curry is the question that must also be answered, and how much does he need to make this team a true title contender? Would Victor Oladipo do the trick? Could the Warriors get buy on just signing Otto Porter Jr. if he gets bought out?

Golden State has the assets to bring in top-tier talent. With that Minnesota first, which I wrote they shouldn’t trade for anything short of a top-five player, the Warriors will likely use some restraint in trade negotiations.

Bob Myers is planning to be aggressive in trade talks which gives early indications that he does believe Curry can lead this team to a Finals appearance without Thompson by his side. Earlier this season, we did see that Golden State is capable of beating teams like the Lakers and Clippers.

When it gets into the postseason, it may be a different conversation though, and we’ve already also seen how that the Lakers can turn it up a notch as well. That’s where the additional help would come in.

This team is far from complete, and as Evan Quarnstrom wrote, the level of mediocrity in many parts of the team is starting to get frustrating. If you can improve those areas, you can help Curry unlock the team’s potential.

The Warriors have the size with James Wiseman. He won’t be traded. But, players like Andrew Wiggins and Kelly Oubre Jr., both having been wildly inconsistent throughout the season, could be dealt in the next few weeks.

That said, the March 25 trade deadline will tell us all we need to know about how the team views their hand of cards and how they view the potential of this current team.
