Dang, that felt good, right? The Golden State Warriors took their lumps over the last few games but an inspiring victory over the best team in the NBA might help put this team back on track heading into the home stretch.

The Dubs had lost their last four games (longest streak of the year) and were in desperate need of a win. Meanwhile, the Jazz were sitting at a league-high 28 wins but had also gone through turmoil recently, now dropping 4-of-their-last-7 games.

The Golden State Warriors’ young supporting cast flashed signs of what is to potentially come in their victory over the Utah Jazz.

Stephen Curry led the team in scoring, per usual, but Andrew Wiggins responded to a rough shooting stretch with a strong 28 points, a season-high for the young forward. This will hopefully deliver a big confidence boost for Wiggins who is shooting just 29 percent from the 3-point line in his last 12 games.

Speaking of confidence, Jordan Poole is riding a full-blown wave of enthusiasm after his time in the G-League Bubble. He’s now cracked consistent minutes in the lineup and helped close the game for Golden State. Poole finished with 18 points off the bench and hit three 3-pointers.

Dubs’ youngster Nico Mannion also appeared in 12 minutes, scoring 5 points, dishing 2 assists and swiping 2 steals though he was an overall minus-seven on the game. Nonetheless, getting some experience under his belt is always great.

As for the other rookie, James Wiseman, we saw everything we had been hoping for. He flushed home 16 points and hauled in four boards with the second unit – showing his elite mobility for a big and cleaning up the glass when presented the opportunity.

This win is something the Warriors will be hoping to build off. They face the Los Angeles Lakers next, lending them another chance to step in the right direction.
