There are two options for a franchise prior to the trade deadline: be buyers or sellers, and the Golden State Warriors are going to be buyers.

The Golden State Warriors are on the brink of contending for a postseason spot in the Western Conference. With the plans to have a ninth seed at least play to get into the postseason, the Warriors have a good chance of getting playoff basketball.

However, they aren’t title contenders right now, something they’ve been used to being over the last few seasons. Getting to that point is going to be no easy task for Bob Myers and company despite Stephen Curry playing at an elite level.

Curry is playing some of the best basketball of his career. Earlier in the season, this season for Curry was getting comparisons to his unanimous MVP season, but his numbers have declined just a tad bit since then.

Golden State also has a few impressive victories on their resume. Wins over both teams in Los Angeles and then a win over the Utah Jazz all showcase that this team can compete with the best in the West.

That said, the NBA trade deadline is approaching, and it’s a last chance for them to drastically improve their roster. Let’s dive into two reasons why they’ll do just that.
