George Hill

The Golden State Warriors should crave more production from their backup point guard role. They aimed to make securing a solid second unit leader in the offseason and came away with Brad Wanamaker, who joined the Warriors after two seasons in Boston.

Wanamaker, 31, hasn’t played overly well this season, averaging just 4.9 points per game and more importantly shooting a mere 36 percent from the field. They’ve oftentimes needed more from him.

While he may not instantly make them title contender, Hill would add a veteran presence and would immediately strengthen their second unit. Hill, who is with the Thunder, is averaging 11.8 points per game and shooting over 50 percent from the field for the second straight season.

That’s the type of production the Warriors would crave off their bench. Given that Hill doesn’t make that big of a difference, the Dubs may not pay a first-round pick, the price it could very well take.

With the Thunder not in playoff contention, it’d be a win-win deal if the two franchises could agree on terms.
