Potential Warriors Trade Suggestion: Kelly Oubre Jr. to the Heat

The Miami Heat made a move to acquire Victor Oladipo prior to the deadline, and Oubre Jr. was likely a name that the two teams discussed.

While exactly who was engaging in discussions for Oubre Jr. is unknown, given that the Heat targeted Oladipo and the similarities in their position and style, there’s reason to believe Miami may have given it a try.

The Heat added Oladipo for Kelly Olynyk, a pick swap in 2022, and Avery Bradley.

An expiring contract like Oubre Jr., the Dubs may have been able to get a similar offer which we showed above. This would’ve been a win-win, and since the Warriors didn’t get a deal they loved, the proposed trade seems like something that could’ve been offered

Oubre Jr. is averaging 15.1 points per game. His athleticism and energy are what other teams should desire. While his shooting and upside should come around, Oubre Jr. hasn’t necessarily been the star Golden State had hoped for.

Nonetheless, this offer could’ve been one the Dubs missed out on, and it would’ve been discouraging if it was one they had in their back pocket and didn’t pounce on.
