While no rumor in the NBA is truly surprising anymore, it is strange to think that the idea of LeBron James allegedly recruiting Stephen Curry to leave the Golden State Warriors is a topic that has gained any sort of traction.

Brian Windhorst of ESPN mentioned that James has been ‘recruiting’ Curry since the All-Star break. Windhorst suggested that with an upcoming opportunity for Curry to extend his contract with Golden State, James has been working behind the scenes to team up with his former rival.

No, despite what Brian Windhorst has suggested, Stephen Curry will not be drawn away from the Golden State Warriors by LeBron James.

I guess we will start by giving Windhorst some sort of credit. The NBA landscape is constantly changing and players are doing things nobody could have predicted years ago. I mean, if you showed someone from 2015 the current Brooklyn Nets roster they would probably pass out.

However, one thing has remained consistent throughout all of the crazy signings – Curry has always been, and will always be, a member of the Warriors. The only real exception to this rule is the slim possibility he chooses to play for his hometown team in Charlotte before hanging up his jersey.

Even though Curry has been a member of super teams in the past, it’s hard to imagine he jumps ship to link up with LeBron after years of dueling in the postseason. Rivalry aside, the Los Angeles Lakers are a far cry away from being able to accommodate Curry financially.

Don’t get me wrong, Curry and James together would be a sight to see. Hey, in a world with no salary cap, the trio of Curry, James and Anthony Davis would potentially be the greatest big-three in the history of the game.

Sadly, we don’t live in that world. And, fortunately for the Dubs, it seems extremely unlikely the Golden Boy leaves his home in the Bay area anytime soon.
