A cemented legacy

This could go both ways for Curry, but I think it favors him staying in the Bay Area. Curry has three championships with the Warriors and has been to five of the last six NBA Finals.

He doesn’t have to find somewhere else later in his career to ring chase. Now, there’s no denying that he’d likely have a better chance at securing that fourth ring with the Lakers given that they’ll still have James and Anthony Davis.

Curry has everything he needs to end as a top-ten player to ever step on the hardwood in Golden State, and it doesn’t feel like he’d just abandon that to play with James, not to mention he’d be leaving Klay Thompson and Draymond Green behind.

We already know he’s the best shooter, and he’s been able to cement that legacy in Golden State. When it’s all said and done, he’ll be going down as the Dubs’ best player ever.

It’s tough to envision Curry leaving later in his career when the Warriors have all the chips it takes to be a competitive team. His legacy is in Golden State. He’s built this franchise up, and while he doesn’t owe it another contract, it feels far more likely than him parting ways.
