Is it really possible to save an abandoned talent in the NBA? Most failed prospects are exactly that… failed prospects. Yet, the Golden State Warriors have open spots on their roster and nothing to lose by taking a chance on a lost player.

The Warriors have managed to get the best out of a few players in the past. Remember Marquese Chriss? The eighth pick in the 2016 NBA Draft was tossed to the side by each of his teams, failing to earn consistent minutes on the Cleveland Cavaliers. Then, the Warriors scooped him up and made him look like a competent player suited for small-ball lineups.

The NBA is loaded with lost talent. Here are three abandoned prospects the Golden State Warriors can consider signing.

It’s unclear if there are any players capable of reversing their trajector like Chriss did but there’s no harm in trying for the Warriors. They offer the ideal environment for struggling players to find their niche in the NBA and they have every reason to get creative before the deadline.

Even if the Warriors swing and miss on a signing, they won’t be too upset. Missing the playoffs seems inevitable at this point and it’s actually better if they put their chips into the upcoming draft. And, if they do find a hidden gem in one of these prospects, the Warriors will feel satisfied heading into the offseason with another piece to their rotation.
