Warriors potential draft prospect: James Bouknight

James Bouknight looked good as a sophomore at the University of Connecticut. He willed the Huskies to an NCAA Tournament berth.

While the upside may not be there, he did show a special ability to score at UConn. Bouknight, his second season, averaged 18.7 points per game. He took on a larger role, one that included him becoming more of a deep threat as well.

Bouknight, at 6-foot-5, has a solid frame and can defend well. Bleacher Report’s Jonathan Wasserman recently mocked Bouknight to the Hawks at 16. That same mock played Johnson at No. 8.

"“The Hawks could look at Bouknight, an athletic 2-guard with an advanced scoring package fueled by sharp creation moves and three-level shot-making. We could see more playmaking in a lineup that doesn’t rely on him to consistently take over,” Wasserman wrote."

The upside isn’t there for Bouknight as a superstar. He has great potential to be an Alec Burks-like player. He’s an athletic two-guard that has a limited ceiling but solid upside. This would be an option for the Dubs if they select towards the end of the lottery.
