1 – Golden State Warriors select: Cade Cunningham, G

Nothing would tilt the NBA landscape more than Cade Cunningham landing in Golden State this offseason. The combo-guard appears to be capable of doing it all at the professional level and he’s a scary fit with the Warriors.

Standing at 6’8″ with the ball-handling skills of a guard, Cade is the definition of a generational talent. He’s shown incredible poise and control for such a young player and never wavers in his attack.

Cunnigham averaged 20.1 points, 6.2 rebounds and 3.5 assists as a freshman on shooting splits of 44/40/85. All indicators point towards Cunningham being the future of NBA basketball and his role with the Dubs would be clear.

The Warriors are in need of a secondary ball-handler and Cade fills that need instantly. He can create for others, attack the basket and space the floor at a high rate. Add in his potential to be a versatile defender and the Warriors will be back to competing for championships almost instantly.

Cunningham’s court vision would make playing off-ball easy for the Splash Brothers while he could one day blossom into the face of the franchise. This outcome may be a pipe dream but it’s an incredibly exciting one nonetheless.
