In a game where Stephen Curry struggled to get going from beyond the 3-point line, the Golden State Warriors showed no trouble maintaining a lead over the Cleveland Cavaliers. This was a good indication of growth for the Dubs.

Though Stephen Curry led the way with 33 points, it was an overall team effort that secured a win for the Golden State Warriors.

Believe it or not, Curry started this game 0-for-7 from the 3-point line. A surprisingly great defensive effort from the rookie Isaac Okoro did just enough to disrupt Curry from deep in the first three quarters.

Yet, Curry’s shooting woes didn’t last long. He finished the game with four triples, including an ankle-shattering shot over Matthew Dellavadova in the second half. Overall, Curry’s resilience to get to the rim netted him 33 points on 12-of-25 shooting.

Truthfully, it really didn’t matter if Curry was shooting poorly from deep. The rest of the Warriors stepped up in a strong way.

Juan Toscano-Anderson put up a career-high 20 points on 3-of-4 shooting from the 3-point line, feeling more and more confident as the game went on. In addition to timely buckets, JTA played a huge role in slowing down the high-scoring Collin Sexton who opened the game with 14 straight points.

Meanwhile, Andrew Wiggins was impressive as well. Wiggins posted 23 points, 6 assists and 6 rebounds in one of his more complete performances of the season. Though it was an off-night for Kent Bazemore, the bench responded strongly with 14 points from Jordan Poole and 11 points courtesy of Damion Lee.

In particular, Poole continued to show flashes of potential that have everyone excited for the future. He’s shooting with zero hesitation and making defenses pay for giving him an inch of air space. This type of spacing and shot creation will bode well for the Warriors moving forward.

This victory marked the fourth straight win for Golden State, their best streak of the season. The Dubs are trending in the right direction as we enter the final gauntlet to the playoffs.
