Warriors’ player on the hot seat: Andrew Wiggins

After missing the game-tying layup against the Washington Wizards, Andrew Wiggins needs some redemption. Wiggins has played better-than-expected for the Warriors this season, but they could still use more from a  max-contract player.

Wiggins is averaging 18.1 points per game this season. While his role is drastically different than the one he played with the Timberwolves, his per-game average is the lowest it has been since his rookie season.

However, the best part of Wiggins’ game is that his efficiency is at career-high levels. Wiggins is averaging 47.2 percent from the floor and 37.9 percent from deep. He’s dropped that three-point shooting to under 30 percent in the team’s recent ten-game stretch.

At the end of the day, there’s no reason why Green would step up and average more than 10-15 points per game. Oubre Jr. is extremely inconsistent, and Curry is doing all he can. The next person to step up is Wiggins, and if he doesn’t, he could be on the hot seat entering the offseason.
