While the Golden State Warriors are staying tuned to the final stretch of their season that will determine if they reach the playoffs or not — the front office should be aptly studying the upcoming NBA Draft, as well.
The Dubs really need to luck out and find a talented prospect that can help them compete as soon as possible this summer. Although I still believe James Wiseman was the right pick — it’s important the Warriors select a player that is more NBA-ready than Wiseman was in his rookie season.
In order for this to happen, they need a few cards to go their way in the lottery. First and foremost, the Warriors are praying the Minnesota Timberwolves to fall out of the top three — which would sequentially transfer the pick to Golden State. After that, the Warriors will still need fate to cause one of these prospects to slip in the draft.
The Golden State Warriors will possibly have either the fourth or fifth pick in the 2021 NBA Draft. Here are three prospects we hope will slip.
It seems all but guaranteed Cade Cunningham is selected first overall this year. The Oklahoma State superstar is one of the most hyped prospects of the last five years. If Cade is first — who goes next?
That’s the thing, no one is really sure who will be selected after Cunningham. There’s a number of talented names that will be considered and it could all come down to which teams are drafting in the top three.
Nevertheless, the Dubs will be hoping one of these three guys fall to fourth or fifth in the lineup so they can claim them for themselves.
