The last few weeks have been a hectic ride for Golden State Warriors fans. They’ve seen some of the best basketball of Stephen Curry‘s career, which is saying something considering he’s the league’s only unanimous MVP.

Those performances haven’t necessarily translated to wins though. The Warriors are just 2-2 in their last four games, albeit they were able to go on a four-game win streak prior to that .500 stretch of games.

The Golden State Warriors likely won’t win their next eight games, but if Stephen Curry can get and stay hot, it’s certainly not out of the question.

After seeing what Curry is capable of within this roster, the Warriors can now go ahead and fully unleash their MVP candidate. Over the team’s next eight games, he’ll have a chance to secure his bid as the league’s most valuable player.

The Warriors have the New Orleans Pelicans twice, the Oklahoma City Thunder twice, and the Houston Rockets. They also have the Kings tonight and then the Mavericks and Timberwolves. Those are the eight before they get a back-to-back against the Jazz and Suns.

Seven of those eight games will be against opponents that are under .500. With the Dubs sitting at 30-30, they will have a real shot at getting to the No. 8 seed, currently sitting at No. 10. They’d need a major collapse from Dallas to break into the top seven.

The play-in tournament will be in their future as long as they take care of business these last few weeks, and getting a top-eight seed will be ideal as they’d then have to lose twice to not make the actual playoffs.

With Curry as the scoring leader for the entire NBA, going on an impressive stretch of wins isn’t out of the question. He’s been consistently hitting at least 30 points per game, and when that happens, the Warriors will almost always have a chance to win.

With Kelly Oubre Jr. finding his rhythm off the bench and Draymond Green stepping up on the offensive end of the court, the Warriors should be able to win at least six of their next eight and that should help them to get out of the tenth seed.

An easy schedule is in their future and hopefully so are quite a few wins.
