Warriors player the team would love to see get hot: Kelly Oubre Jr.

While Mulder may not be in the rotation for the play-in tournament, Kelly Oubre Jr. certainly will be. Oubre Jr. missed a handful of games with wrist soreness, and given Bazemore’s competence in the starting unit, Oubre Jr. is now coming off the bench.

It’s been a good change of pace for Oubre Jr., who has transitioned into a much better slasher.

He’s not settling, and that’s been the best part of his game since returning. That said, Oubre Jr. was just 1-for-7 from deep against the Kings, but he still one of the most useful players and has a crucial layup in the last few minutes.

It was because, when he wasn’t shooting from deep, he was either laying the ball up or dunking it. Since turning, Oubre Jr. is averaging 18.8 points per game and shooting under 32 percent from deep.

Despite that, he’s still over 48 percent from the field. If this Oubre Jr. can get hot from deep while keeping his insane ability to get to the rim alive, he’ll be dangerous, and that’s what the Warriors need from him moving forward.
