4 Golden State Warriors with the most to lose in play-in tournament
The Golden State Warriors are currently sitting in 8th place in the Western Conference. There’s really not much chance they find themselves soaring up into that 7th spot which is currently occupied by the Lakers.
However, with the Memphis Grizzlies as their regular-season finale, there is a chance they drop to the 9th or 10th seed, so these last few games do have some implications on the play-in tournament seeding.
The Golden State Warriors are going to be headed to the play-in tournament for one of two spots in the playoffs, and these four have the most to lose if they fail.
As it stands now, the Warriors would play the Lakers. If they win, they’d take on the No. 2 seeded Suns. If they lose, they’d take on the winner of the Grizzlies and the San Antonio Spurs for a chance to play the Utah Jazz in the first round.
May 18 is when that kicks off and the postseason commences. With Stephen Curry currently in the midst of seeking his second scoring title in his illustrious career, the Warriors will still need more from the star.
