Golden State Warriors player with most to lose: Stephen Curry

In terms of his greatest as a shooter and scorer, Stephen Curry has nothing to lose, but in the terms of where he may rank among the greatest to ever take the court, he may have at least something to lose if he can’t make the playoffs despite being the sole leader of the team.

Curry should be the league’s MVP. I know the case Nikola Jokic has, but without Curry, this Warriors team is easily the worst in the West. We saw that during the few games he wasn’t on the court.

With Curry and Draymond Green, the Warriors lost to the Raptors by 53. The Raptors aren’t even a playoff-caliber team in the East. That just goes to show how much the Warriors depend on the superstar.

Seeking his second scoring title, Curry is currently averaging 31.9 points per game. His 48.7 percent from the field is above his career average as well, so he’s scoring rather efficiently. Coming off a historic month in April, Curry’s primed to make some noise in the playoffs.

While it’s a long shot, Curry could manage to down either the Suns or Jazz if the team can get through the play-in tournament. It would be embarrassing to enter as a top-eight seed and miss the playoffs.

Curry must prove he can carry a team through the tournament or risk his name continuing to get slander among those that don’t believe he can captain a high-profile team without much help. For Curry, it’s all legacy on the line, although it’s largely already cemented in the history books.
