Bradley Beal made headlines on Monday by going off on Warriors guard Kent Bazemore.

The original comment was made by Bazemore is regards to Curry dropping 49 points in 29 minutes and “guys hurting hamstrings to keep up.” Obviously, Beal is the one trying to keep up as he’s the only other player in contention for the league’s scoring title.

Beal, who has missed and will continue to miss time due to a hamstring injury, didn’t take Bazemore’s comments lightly. Beal sounded off on Twitter but also made sure to note it wasn’t anything against Curry.

There’s also a video of Beal describing why the situation angered him.

Warriors’ Kent Bazemore didn’t mean ill-will towards superstar Bradley Beal but was just joking when mentioning his injury in regards to the scoring race.

Here a compilation of tweets by @RTNBA.

It was an odd scenario, and with the scoring race now in the favor of Stephen Curry, Beal’s chances are nearing zero with the bulk of teams having under three games to do. The race is all but over, but the drama may just be getting started.

Washington is in play-in tournament territory, so the goal for Beal is to get healthy enough to compete in the team’s postseason run. That said, Bazemore was asked about Beal’s comments, and he just continued his light-hearted attitude about it being a joke.

Bazemore also noted that no one wished Beal would get hurt for Curry to get it. Beal was hurt and then Bazemore made the comment, so the timeline doesn’t add up for him wishing an injury upon anyone.

The veteran guard did note that it will blow over, and he’s right. The Warriors are back in action tonight, and there won’t be much more talk of this situation as the play-in tournament is a week away.

It would be odd if Bazemore said his original comments without having any success this season, but he’s started to come on as of late and has been playing very well for the Warriors. Bazemore has been the starting shooting guard with Kelly Oubre Jr. sidelined.

This will all blow over, but it was an interesting back and forth between two players who have been in the league for quite some time.
