Golden State Warriors secret weapon No. 2: Kelly Oubre Jr.

The hope is that the Dubs can get star 25-year-old guard Kelly Oubre Jr. back in time for a potential postseason run. Oubre Jr. According to Yahoo! Sports, head coach Steve Kerr is hoping to get Oubre Jr. back.

The guard is more than likely gone after this season since the Dubs won’t be able to match his desired contract, so getting him back to see his immensely high potentially one more time would be terrific.

While he hasn’t shown much this season, Oubre Jr. is averaging 15.4 points per game. With the energy and athleticism to be a force on both ends even without scoring, Oubre Jr.’s efficiency has taken a hit, yet his impact is still there.

Oubre Jr. was at 18.7 points per game a season ago. Despite his shooting from both the field and from deep taking a hit, Oubre Jr. is still averaging around 44 percent from the field and 32 percent from deep.

It’s not overly impressive, but holistically, he’s still a top-four player on the Warriors roster. If he returns at full ability, the Warriors have a chance to knock off a very good opponent in the Western Conference.

He’s not so secret, but considering the unknown, if he’ll be available, Oubre Jr. may surprisingly play within the next few days.
