Golden State Warriors secret weapon No. 1: Draymond Green

Draymond Green is a three-time champion and three-time All-Star. Sure, he’s no secret weapon, but he’s been stepping up lately and could be secretly more impactful than most opponents would typically prepare for.

Green has been huge down the stretch.

What happens is that, for example, on a handoff with Curry, Green often times fakes it and both defenders go with Curry. He then has a four-on-three with the defense and makes the right kick to a three-point shooter. That’s where Mulder gets his value from.

Over the last several seasons, Green’s three-point shooting has disappeared. It’s been extremely confusing to see him struggle this much from dep.

However, over his last ten games, Green is averaging 14.3 points, 9.6 rebounds, and 9.6 assists per game. The best part about his success is that he’s averaging 59 percent from the field and 44 percent from deep.

Whatever Green adjusted, that’s the secret, and if it’s consistent, it’ll be a huge plus for the Warriors.
