Golden State Warriors: Stephen Curry versus Ja Morant

Could it get any more obvious? A showdown between the young and old. Last generation versus the next. All eyes will be on Stephen Curry and Ja Morant Sunday night.

Curry (33) and Morant (21) have not played a single game against each other to this date. Crazy, I know, but various injuries have held these two back from actually squaring off. This hasn’t stopped Morant from making playful jabs at the two-time MVP, posting a picture of Kevin Durant in response to Curry last year on Twitter. Don’t get it wrong, there is no bad blood between the two other than a bit of competitiveness. Nonetheless, this heightens the excitement behind their first meeting on the court.

Morant has never backed down from competition. The former Rookie of the Year has improved in almost every category as a sophomore and has a flare for rising to the occasion in big games, erupting in last year’s Play-In against Portland and forcing them into overtime.

As for Curry, well… let’s just say he’s having a pretty good year too. Curry would have shattered the single-season 3-point record had it been a standard 82 game season and is the reason Golden State is rolling since the All-Star Break.

This game could very well come down to who’s supporting cast steps up the most. But, don’t be surprised if Morant and Curry end up going one-on-one to determine the winner of this battle.
