Golden State Warriors are onto the next one

Let’s keep it real, this Golden State Warriors team wasn’t going to win anything meaningful this season. Getting it over with and ensuring that the next game Stephen Curry plays will be next to Klay Thompson is, well, a beautiful thing.

It is a matter of cutting your losses. This season was hopeless, anyways, The Dubs can rest assured better days are coming with the return of Thompson. At a minimum, Thompson’s presence will push them deeper into the playoff picture and help them avoid the Play-In altogether next year.

But, the front office should not sit idle this offseason. There is absolutely NO reason to be satisfied with this current roster, even with all of the growth it has shown. Disappointment would be an understatement if the Dubs’ front office fails to make any notable moves this summer. In fact, I’d argue some people need to lose their jobs if the Warriors enter the 2021-22 season without another star or, at the very least, veteran talent to occupy the bench.

Everyone knew this season would mostly be a throwaway due to Thompson’s injury. Next season, the expectations will be different. There is no more time to waste, the Dubs need to reconstruct this roster and set themselves up for success immediately.
