Golden State Warriors trade for Christian Wood

We’ll start with our sights a little low. The Golden State Warriors are reportedly seeking a star-caliber player in return for James Wiseman. But, they might have to settle for a borderline star and a quality role player instead.

In this deal, the Warriors can take advantage of a rebuilding Houston Rockets team by offering multiple young assets and a draft pick. Obviously, Wiseman acts as the centerpiece of this trade as a recent lottery pick with loads of potential despite a shaky rookie season.

Christian Wood can offer floor-spacing and offensive versatility for the Dubs, two things they desperately need in the frontcourt. The 25-year-old had a career-high year, scoring 21.0 points and grabbing 9.6 rebounds per game. Wood also shot above 50 percent from the field and close to 40 percent from the 3-point line.

To complete this trade, the Rockets would include Danuel House — House served as a reliable two-way threat for Houston and would fit in perfectly with the Warriors’ win rotation. I think this trade works for both sides, though the Dubs should be able to find something better elsewhere.
