Golden State Warriors trade for Jimmy Butler

Last year, the Miami Heat stunned the Eastern Conference in a run to the NBA Finals. Almost just as shocking, the Heat are being stomped out by the Milwaukee Bucks in what looks like a first-round sweep. This has us asking, will Miami blow it up?

Specifically, will Jimmy Butler be on the trading block? His alpha-dog mentality helped spur a trip to the NBA Finals but if the Heat can gain multiple first round picks and another versatile center to create a humongous frontcourt next to Bam Adebayo — would they bite?

Butler’s lack of a 3-point shot would hurt the Warriors, there is no question about that. However, his defense and playmaking would add for an interesting wrinkle in the Warriors motion offense. I think Butler would adapt well and become a valuable cog in this machine.

This deal also sees the Dubs reuniting with Andre Iguodala. While he is far from the Finals MVP we saw years ago, Iggy offers a veteran presence the Warriors have been lacking in recent years. Overall, the Warriors raise their ceiling by adding weathered players such as Butler and Iggy.
