Golden State Warriors player unlikely to return: Kent Bazemore
There were periods of last season in which Kent Bazemore was completely out of the rotation. He was always one of the top seven scoring options the Warriors had, but sometimes head coach Steve Kerr opted to play Damion Lee or Mychal Mulder behind Kelly Oubre Jr.
Bazemore ended up getting quite a bit of time towards the end of the season. Oubre Jr. was sidelined while Lee was in the league’s health and safety protocol. That gave Bazemore many big-time minutes.
Despite averaging 7.2 points per game on the season, in the last 20 games of the season, Bazemore notched 10.6 points per game and shot over 45 percent from deep. It was an impressive stint from the veteran.
While he’ll most than likely be offered his spot back, Klay Thompson’s return could render him useless. Along with Lee and Mulder potentially returning along with Bazemore turning 32 by the start of next season, he may not have the role he desires.
He should be back, but he does come in at the fifth-most likely to not return.
