Golden State Warriors must improve frontcourt

Current Rotation: Draymond Green, Kevon Looney, James Wiseman, Eric Paschall

There is no debate the Golden State Warriors’ lack of size in the frontcourt hurt them last season. It is important they address this in the offseason.

Homegrown options:

Is there any better option for improving at center than working on James Wiseman? Regardless of his bumpy first year, Wiseman is a towering big man with elite athleticism that can be a force of nature if he puts it all together. Developing Wiseman into the rim-runner he was always meant to be is a recipe for success in Golden State.

As for the rest of the rotation, helping Draymond Green rediscover his jump shot would do wonders for this team. Furthermore, seeing Eric Paschall polish his scoring and making a leap defensively would give the Dubs all they need in the frontcourt.

Trades:

I’m not sure it would make sense for the Warriors to cough up any of their assets for a center in return. Yet, if they elect to trade for a big, Domantas Sabonis sounds like the only reasonable player to target. The All-Star center offers consistent scoring in the paint and serves as a skilled playmaker at the five.

Free Agency:

Now we’re talking. Veteran centers are going to be all over the market this season with guys like JaVale McGee, Serge Ibaka, Cody Zeller, Robin Lopez, Nerlens Noel, Enes Kanter, Bismack Biyombo and Dwight Howard all set to become free agents. I would be stunned if the Warriors didn’t make a push for one of these guys.
