The Golden State Warriors are expecting Klay Thompson back next season. Although it may not be immediately, the five-time All-Star is supposed to play for the first time since the 2019 NBA Finals in the coming season.

Thompson’s return will impact the Warriors, and as it did a season ago, it should impact their offseason strategy. After Thompson’s injury this past offseasons, the Dubs did what they could to create a roster that would contend.

While Golden State Warriors may not get him back immediately, Klay Thompson is expected to return, and that return could kill the value of some players.

The Warriors brought in 25-year-old shooting guard Kelly Oubre Jr. via a trade with the Oklahoma City Thunder.  He performed reasonably well in his time with the Warriors, scoring 15.4 points per game.

Oubre Jr. was the starter. Behind Oubre Jr. were Kent Bazemore, Mychal Mulder, and Damion Lee. Those three split time when the team was at full strength, and they’ll all, in some ways, will be impacted by Thompson’s return.

That said, let’s dive into a few Golden State Warriors that will become expendable upon Thompson’s return.
