Warriors’ player that is expendable if Klay Thompson returns: Mychal Mulder

The Golden State Warriors have both Lee and Mulder planning to return for next season.

As it currently stands, both are on non-guaranteed deals. If you have to choose one, it will be Mulder who is more expendable. While Thompson is far more of a complete offensive player, all three are snipers.

Lee and Mulder, in some aspects, play similar games. They thrive off their ability to shoot. Lee’s game is a bit more complete as he can also lead the second unit as opposed to strictly being a spot-up option.

Mulder played well last season, averaging 5.6 points per game. He went off late in the season with a 28-point effort in the team’s second to last regular-season game. Mulder shot 39.7 percent from deep which was the most useful part of his skill set.

Almost 27, Mulder doesn’t have much of a ceiling and combine that with the return of Lee and Thompson, and it may be tough for him to buy minutes next season.
