Golden State Warriors player that’ll remain in rotation: Damion Lee

There were several players that thrived when the Golden State Warriors won 15 games in the Covid-19-halted season. Damion Lee was one of them. The question for Lee, and the others like Mychel Mulder and Eric Paschall, was could he keep it up.

While his numbers weren’t at the same level with the need for his playmaking diminished, Lee was a terrific playmaker and even had a game-winning shot this past season. On the year, Lee averaged 6.5 points per game. For these non-star role players, efficiency is also very important.

As for Lee, he shot a career-high 46.7 percent from the field and even neared 40 percent from deep. Both of those were good enough to keep him in the rotation when the team was at full strength.

While Klay Thompson is expected to be back and may shake up the shooting guard rotation, the team isn’t expected to bring back Kelly Oubre Jr., who is looking for $20 million annually.

Lee’s same role will be there, and given both his ties to the team and his performance this past season, I’d expect him to be back in that role even if the team adds a potential two-guard with one of their two lottery picks.
