Golden State Warriors: 7 Kelly Oubre Jr. sign-and-trade deals to consider
The Golden State Warriors may not be able to keep shooting guard Kelly Oubre Jr., but they may be able to get something out of him if they can find a way to get the 25-year-old to agree to a sign-and-trade.
Oubre Jr. is a big-time player.
He deserves to be the focal point of a franchise, and dealing him could bring in a few role players that would help give Golden State the depth and playmaking they need to take their franchise to the next level.
Kelly Oubre Jr. is set to be an unrestricted free agent, and if he wants out, he could help the Golden State Warriors by agreeing to a sign-and-trade.
A sign-and-trade involving Oubre Jr. is something that’s been suggested before, recently by NBC Sports. These potential proposals will assume that Oubre Jr. is going to agree to making around $15 million per year.
Sadly, Oubre Jr., per CBS Sports, is expecting to be able to sign for at least $20 million. It’ll be tough for the Warriors to compete with that as Andrew Wiggins, Klay Thompson, Stephen Curry, and Draymond Green are all on max-value contracts.
If they can manage to get a deal done, it’ll certainly be worth the while of both parties, especially the Warriors who could add a few critical pieces. Figuring out the cap will be the major obstacle for Golden State.
Assuming they can make it work, let’s dive into seven trades they should consider making.
