Warriors potential Kelly Oubre Jr. sign-and-trade with the Atlanta Hawks

The Atlanta Hawks are looking young and athletic, taking down the gritty Knicks in the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs.

They have the pieces to perfectly complement each other. They were easily one of the surprise teams this season, and they’ll look to continue it in the future. Oubre Jr. could help get them there, being a playmaking sidekick alongside Ice Trae.

This trade would be a huge win for Golden State, making it unlikely for Atlanta to accept. Given Hunter’s massive jump as a sophomore, the Hawks will be looking at him as a long-term piece. Reddish also has shown flashes of stardom.

Neither is quite the playmaker that Oubre Jr. is, at least not yet.

Hunter averaged over 15 points per game, shooting 48.4 percent from the field and knocking down 1.3 triples as well. Hunter could easily be the better player, but with John Collins also in the mix, the Hawks won’t be able to pay them all eventually.

The Warriors need help in their frontcourt, and Hunter and Reddish would give them size and playmaking. This doesn’t feel very feasible given Hunter’s importance to Atlanta, but it’s something Golden State fans can dream of.
